CHANDLER MAYFIELD
Chandler Mayfield is a dedicated physical education teacher at Heroes Elementary School in Hoschton, GA. As a published author, he co-authored the article "Silencing the Whisperers: Making PE More Than PE," which explores innovative cross-curricular integration strategies in elementary physical education. Chandler’s excellence in the field has been recognized nationally; he received the 2024 SHAPE America Major of the Year Award, an honor celebrating exceptional students in health, physical education, recreation, and dance. Additionally, he was named the Outstanding Physical Education Student upon his graduation from the University of North Georgia in 2024. Chandler is also a certified pickleball coach through the Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR), USA Pickleball’s preferred certification program.
Chandler is a dedicated physical education teacher passionate about fostering physically literate individuals who will embrace lifelong wellness. With a commitment to instilling key wellness skills, Chandler creates an engaging environment where students can explore various physical activities and discover their strengths. He is eager and continually seeks ways to learn new teaching methods and contribute to the field of physical education.
OUTSIDE OF THE CLASSROOM
Outside of physical education, Chandler’s love of fitness, nutrition, and sports runs deep as he enjoys exercising, playing tennis and pickleball, cooking, and cheering on the Atlanta Braves, Georgia Bulldogs, and Atlanta Falcons.
Chandler also enjoys all things Disney, spending time with his family and friends, and, most of all, spending time with his Golden Retriever, Champ!
